Best places to have a drink with a view

 Denys and I at Nepenthe

Spring has sprung, which means it’s the perfect time of year to enjoy some cocktails al fresco, like you see Denys and I doing at Nepenthe last year. 😎🥂☀️

Whether it’s a hip rooftop bar, a restaurant with a glorious patio or a terrace overlooking a great ocean vista, these places will have you craving a yummy cocktail in the great outdoors. Think of it as having a drink with a view.

Next time you’re in one of these cities, check out these places (preferably if the weather is cooperating) and try one of our suggested cocktails. Not super big into liquor? These places also have soft cocktails on the menu or can serve up a delicious non-alcoholic version for you.

Westlight in Williamsburg

Take a sip and take in the striking Manhattan skyline from Westlight, a rooftop bar and restaurant on the 22nd floor of the William Vale hotel in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Once you get to the lobby of the hotel, walk all the way back and take the elevator to your right.

Drink we love: Lavender Lake. Bombay Sapphire, Butterfly Pea Flower, St. Germain, Italicus, Lavender, Lemon

Nepenthe in Big Sur

An institution in Big Sur, California, Nepenthe is a super-popular restaurant with a terrace right on a plunging cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The restaurant doesn’t take reservations so the wait can be kind of long, but with great cocktails and this incredible vista, you won’t mind the wait.

Drink we love: Elderflower Sparkler. Fiorente Elderflower Liqueur with sparkling wine and fresh lemon juice

Cindy’s in Chicago

A rooftop restaurant atop the Chicago Athletic Association hotel, Cindy’s is probably one of the best brunch spot in the world. What better way to cap a buzzed afternoon than with panoramic views of Millennium Park and the fresh air of Lake Michigan?

Drink we love: Famer’s Gin and Tonic. Hendrick’s orbium gin, acha vermouth blanco, iceberg lettuce, fever-tree indian tonic
