Singer Hilary Duff has been on Tinder for the last two weeks, and she has gotten pretty good at scoring hot dates, according to her. She went on her first Tinder date just earlier this week: bowling.
“It was cool,” the 27-year-old told Ryan Seacrest on the radio. But it’s on to the next one, for Ms. Duff. She has already set up a date go-carting with bachelor #2. Since becoming a single mom, Hilary Duff has turned into a total pro in mastering the art of online dating.
“I’m just a Tinder animal,” she said. “I had my Tinder training wheels on for my first date. Now it’s smooth sailing.”
Busy bee Hilary has had to up her game and be super efficient on Tinder. This year she’s already been hard at work on a new TV show and new music. Coming soon is a music video for her well-liked pop song, “Sparks.”
But regardless how occupied we might be with work, there’s always time for a little love. Here are Hilary Duff’s cardinal rules for Tinder dating:
1. Keep your options open
Hilary said she’s currently chatting with nine guys on Tinder. The red-hot dating app boasts over 30 million users worldwide. Trust, there’s plenty of fish in the sea, but you have to know to cast a wide net, so to speak.
2. Use common interests as conversation starters
Forget writing on your Tinder profile that you’re spontaneous and “fun-loving,” just mention pizza. “I’ve had a lot of convos because of that,” Hilary said. Obviously, everyone loves pizza, so it gives the guys a common interest to spark a conversation.
3. Instant left? The “shirtless mirror selfie”
“I don’t want to see a shirtless, mirror selfie,” Hilary said. “That is instantly a left.” A recent study found that guys who spent a lot of time taking, photoshopping and posting selfies are more narcissistic and more psychopathic. Sounds fun. Hilary would rather go for funny guys.
