Cool like Iron Man, bold like Thor or clean-cut like Captain America: which Marvel superhero best reflects your personal style? Now you can dress like The Avengers without looking like you’re wearing a costume.
Menswear subscription service Five Four Club has teamed up with Marvel to create a new clothing collection inspired by the brand’s most iconic superheroes. The line of apparel launched on April 1 and will be available exclusively to all new Five Four members. Five Four is a Birchbox-style menswear subscription e-commerce service that sends carefully curated packages of affordable clothing to members each month.
“Our designers really dug through the Marvel archives to find new ways to recreate the heritage and evolution behind the brand and its super heroes,” Andres Izquieta, co-founder and CEO of Five Four told PSFK. “We’re so excited for the opportunity to work with Marvel; the collections showcase some of our best designs to date.”
Although it’s easy to get costume-y when designing a contemporary fashion line inspired by comic books, Five Four hit the mark by styling in subtle elements of the Marvel Universe. The Five Four collection plays to the relatable personalities behind Marvel’s most beloved superheroes and their secret identities, with reversible shirts and hidden pockets. Some items feature iconic emblems and images from the comic books hidden in the inside lining of the clothing. This is something guys can wear everyday, not just on Halloween.
