A Big Mouth Is the Cure

[dropcap background=”yes” color=”#333333″ size=”50px”]T[/dropcap]hirty years after the AIDS epidemic, The Normal Heart is still beating. Larry Kramer’s 1985 Tony award-winning play has gotten the HBO treatment at the hands of Ryan Murphy, but expect no musical numbers in this heart-wrenching drama surrounding the ominous rise of HIV/AIDS cases in New York City.
The film stars Mark Ruffalo, Matt Bomer, Taylor Kitsch, Jim Parsons and Jonathan Groff as the young nubile Fire Island partygoers who goes down first. Julia Roberts plays a sensible doctor who suggest that having a big mouth is not a symptom of the disease, but a possible cure. So stop spreading your legs without condoms and start spreading the word.

Following Angels in America, Behind the Candelabra, Looking and The Case Against 8, HBO continues its groundbreaking commitment to queer stories with what is sure to be an Emmy and Golden Globe favorite.

The Normal Heart debuts on HBO on May 25. Watch the trailer below.

p.s. Make the most of that HBO subscription and catch up on Looking before season 2 and set your DVR for Ryan Murphy’s second HBO project starring Cheyenne Jackson.
