In my latest column for The San Francisco Examiner, I briefly mention my short-lived experience on Tinder. How even though I stated that I was a male looking for other males, the app kept showing me straight, female matches.
It might be the fact that the app had not really caught on in the gay community (I am an early adopter, after all) but it was kind of annoying that Tinder still proclaimed that it was an effective way of meeting single gay people when all they had done was simply add a gender filter.
I wrote in my column that using Tinder was like “stalking all the straight sorority girls who were mean to me in college.” Don’t believe me, check these erroneously profiles that made it to the palm of my hand. It’d be interested to discover why these women showed up in the male-for-males filter. Maybe they’re the best fag hags that Tinder could find.
