Brian Oldham’s ‘Beautiful Lies’ Cover Up the Ugly Truth
I’ve featured the work of young photographer Brian Oldham before on this blog, and recently he unveiled new equally awesome work. Beautiful Lies, a two-part photographic series, is less surreal than Oldham’s usual stuff but it makes up for it in concept.
In the photos, Oldham literally places a hopeful scene over the unpleasant image of factories polluting the skies and a barren landscape. The simple photos offer commentary on damage control, rose-colored glasses, putting a spin on environmental hazards, looking at the bright side of a shady reality.
These would look great in the corporate headquarters of BP and Exxon.
