For Denys’ birthday, I made a canvas out of this awesome photo we took at Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur on Valentine’s Day. Services like Canvas on Demand and CanvasPop make it simple and relatively inexpensive to personalize your apartment with your own memorable photos. With some much photo-sharing happening online, I don’t think we harness the power of photography enough in the real world. When was the last time you printed your pics or sent a friend a postcard?
Creating a canvas for your home is a great way to take that moment of delight we get when we capture an amazing moment in time and wake up to it every day. Just make sure the image is 300 dpi and to scale the length and width proportionately. It helps to have a graphic designer friend on call (thanks Modesta!). Canvas on Demand even has a quick option to select Instagram-sized images.
Here’s video Denys opening his canvas! I told him that his birthday present this year was going to be something he’d never thought he’d want.
And now a constant reminder of our surreal time in Big Sur hangs above our bed.
